Amazon's Seller Compliance team builds mission-critical services that enable millions of sellers worldwide to meet regulatory requirements while growing their business. Our platform handles complex compliance regulations across multiple domains including environmental protection, product safety, and tax compliance, processing billions in transactions annually.

Are you passionate about designing scalable components?

We're looking for a Software Development Engineer to own and deliver key components of our compliance platform. You'll design and implement services that process millions of seller transactions daily, working closely with Principal Engineers and other SDEs to ensure our solutions meet Amazon's high bar for reliability and scalability.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have strong system design and coding skills
• Take ownership of technical components end-to-end
• Work effectively with senior engineers and peers
• Deliver solutions that scale with Amazon's growth
• Stay current with software development best practices and GenAI Tools

Key job responsibilities

• Own and design critical components of our compliance platform
• Work with Principal Engineers to get design reviews and technical guidance
• Collaborate with other SDEs to implement and integrate solutions
• Build distributed systems handling complex compliance calculations and real-time fee processing
• Ensure high availability and accuracy of your components
• Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
