The Research Operations Analyst reports to the Senior Director, Research Strategy and Operations for the College of Medicine (COM) and partners closely with the Associate Deans for Research and other COM leaders to manage several different business operations within the Office of Research. A continuous improvement mindset is essential to optimize program efficacy and efficiency. Key responsibilities include asset management, research onboarding, and research offboarding. In all work, the team member ensures the integrity and security of confidential information.

The ideal candidate should possess experience in a research environment and have demonstrated success in managing a process improvement project.

  • Asset Management: Responsible for administering the lifecycle of university assets and applying internal procedures and controls relative to the Asset Management program. This includes the coordination of physical inventories conducted within each unit.
  • Research Onboarding: Oversees, manages, and develops research onboarding program ensuring alignment with applicable programs and procedures; uses continuous improvement mindset to optimize program efficacy and efficiency.
  • Research Offboarding: Oversees and manages research offboarding program ensuring alignment with applicable programs and procedures; uses continuous improvement mindset to optimize process efficacy and efficiency.

Minimum Required Education

Bachelor's degree in a life science field, business administration or other related field, or equivalent experience

Bachelor's degree in a life science field, business administration or other related field, or equivalent experience; minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.

Additional Desired Qualifications

2-4 years of relevant work experience preferred; considerable knowledge of university and college policies, rules, and regulations.
