Position Summary...

We are seeking a proactive analytics professional to join our team who will be crucial in advancing Walmart Energy’s data insights capabilities. You will collaborate closely with business and tech stakeholders to translate complex datasets into actionable strategies, scale publicly available AI-driven decision-making, and work with business stakeholders to help with a wide variety of analytical projects. This position is ideal for a versatile analytics leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about leveraging data to drive meaningful change.

This role is based in Bentonville, Arkansas; a full relocation package can be made available, but we are not considering remote applicants at this time.

What you'll do...

  • Analytical Support: Serve as a primary analytical point of contact, providing clear and timely responses to business-critical data requests and ad-hoc analyses. Refine operational workflows and deliver insights that enhance daily execution. You will also collaborate on maintaining project tracking systems and ensuring accurate data updates.
  • Building BI Dashboards: Develop lightweight UI dashboards when tech bandwidth is constrained and later facilitate their transition into the tech stack.
  • Conduct Deep Data Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis on large-scale datasets related to energy usage, utility spend, on-site generation, and EV infrastructure. Identify key metrics, uncover cost-saving opportunities, and evaluate the performance of major initiatives.
  • AI Advocate: You will be highly engaged with AI, accelerating public AI tool experimentation across all teams, identifying and enabling business use cases. Educate the broader team on responsible and effective application of public AI tools in real-world scenarios.
  • Build Strategic Frameworks: Explore and implement forward-thinking frameworks, such as ACRE scoring for sites and energy impact modeling. You will also act as a critical enabler for strategic departmental initiatives. Evaluate new revenue streams, create scalable analytical frameworks, and track progress against enterprise goals, closing analytical gaps to accelerate business outcomes and support long-term success
  • Provide Operational Support: Provide support for critical reporting processes and ensure continuity of operations, including backup coverage for key reporting functions.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, etc.) or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data insights roles
  • Demonstrated ability in advanced modeling and analysis, including some type of statistical or financial methods
  • Proficiency in SQL or coding, with experience querying large, cloud-based data environments
  • Skilled in data visualization and reporting using tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong communication skills, capable of distilling complex data for cross-functional and executive audiences
  • Excellent project management skills and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results on time
  • Familiarity with effective AI prompting approaches

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.

1 year's supervisory experience.
