Join our innovative Data & Analytics team as a Senior Data Engineer, where you’ll play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise-grade data solutions in our Azure ecosystem.

You’ll build robust, scalable data pipelines and dimensional models in our Synapse Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), while also helping lay the foundation for AI/ML integration using Azure’s cutting-edge AI services. Responsibilities

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with a strong focus on Azure Data Services, including:
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Azure Data Factory
    • Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen2)
    • Azure Databricks
  • Experience working alongside Data Scientists to support end-to-end machine learning workflows in Azure Machine Learning, including:
    • Feature store integration
    • Experiment tracking and model versioning
    • Model deployment pipelines
  • Deep experience in building dimensional and star-schema models for analytical workloads.
  • Proficient in T-SQL and performance tuning of large-scale data queries.
  • Proven track record of building and managing robust ETL/ELT pipelines in production environments.
  • Understanding of real-time and batch data ingestion methods and tools.
  • Familiarity with data architecture frameworks, including lakehouse, data mesh, and data vault modeling (optional but preferred).
  • Knowledge of Python, PySpark, or other scripting languages used in data science pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure Cognitive Services or integrating external ML APIs is a strong advantage.
  • Strong foundation in Git-based workflows, DevOps, and CI/CD for data and ML pipelines.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree strongly preferred, will consider comparable work experience.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Understands and makes well-reasoned decisions and tradeoffs within their area of expertise.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends and regularly seeks external expertise to accelerate their learning.
  • Clarifies success metrics and ties efforts toward delivering business value.
  • Emerging understanding of broader organizational context and goals.
  • An understanding of impact and success metrics helps to focus their efforts, as well as those of their function.

We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $104,530.40 - $139,381.84. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
