Position Summary
As a Cardiology Clinical Technician at HVI Matthews in Matthews, NC, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care for patients within our cardiology practice. You will work closely with providers to support diagnostic testing, monitor cardiac rhythms, and guide patients through their procedures with clarity, compassion, and professionalism.

What You’ll Do
- Perform cardiac diagnostics including EKGs, treadmill stress tests, Holter and event monitors, and pacemaker checks
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain processes clearly using plain language and teach-back methods
- Collaborate with providers to assist in examinations, treatments, and special testing
- Identify and report dysrhythmias, and scan cardiac rhythms with accuracy and urgency
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Start IVs for stress testing (after documented competency) and assist with nuclear and stress echo testing
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cardiology to support clinical decisions
- Uphold a culture of safety and high reliability through Novant Health’s First Do No Harm principles
- Create positive patient experiences by rounding, communicating effectively, and embracing inclusion
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED – Required
- Graduate of an Exercise Physiology Program or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) – Required
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a cardiology office setting – Required
Licensure/Certification:
- Certified Cardiac Technician – must obtain within 6 months of hire – Required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – Preferred
Skills:
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm monitoring and recognition of significant dysrhythmias
- Familiarity with EKGs, pacemakers, Holters, and treadmill testing equipment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to teamwork, inclusion, and a remarkable patient experience
- Ability to complete departmental competencies and skill validations
