DESCRIPTION

AWS Compliance and Security Assurance is hiring for an experienced, self-motivated Program Manager with a background in program and risk management to join our Security, Risk and Compliance (SRC) team.

In this role, you will help manage our programs aimed at identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing security risks identified through a variety of sources across AWS. You will be responsible for managing program reporting obligations and will design, develop, and implement innovative approaches that enable us to report at scale. Through this work, you will help drive leadership prioritization and reduce security and compliance risk.

Our mission is to reinvent AWS's approach to managing operational risks by simplifying compliance and assurance, making security transparent for builders through a 'secure, therefore compliant' model, while raising the security and resilience bar. Our guidance and leadership equip our partners to maintain high security standards. Our programs stretch across all of AWS, giving you the opportunity to interact with product teams, industry specialists, security partners, and organization leaders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and implement of enhanced reporting mechanisms using data as your guide.
  • Continuously prioritize risk for service teams, security teams, and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with business/service teams to understand and confirm security assessment scope and controls design.
  • Responsible for building and influencing security as a core competency with internal teams/partners/vendor
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on operational risk requirements to development and operations teams, serving as a subject matter expert for risk governance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP or similar project management certification
  • Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • Knows how to collect data (e.g., from log files, data stores, SQL, potentially via API, etc.)
