Primary Purpose:
To facilitate the design and delivery of ELA curriculum and instruction to maximize student learning at Elementary Campuses.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced degree preferred
A valid Texas teacher’s certificate or such other credentials as may be required by the
State Board for Educator Certification for this position
Three (3) or more years of teaching experience in elementary and/or middle school ELA
Campus leadership experience
Extensive knowledge of the content and methodology for teaching ELA
Ability to work effectively with principals, teachers, students and community
Ability to share proven instructional approaches with teachers and administrators and interpersonal skills to provide feedback and coaching
Ability to conduct staff development and/or mentor teachers
Ability to develop curriculum activities and TEKS-based assessments in collaboration with the Elementary ELA Coordinator
Experience in facilitating the planning and application of emerging technologies in the classroom
Strong organizational skills, strategic planning skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
In order to assist the assigned Elementary campuses, the Elementary ELA Instructional Coach will:

Equipment Used:
Computer, FAX, copier, overhead projector, VCR, laser disc player, tape recorder, 16mm projector, other specialized equipment that is particularly unique to the teaching assignment.
Working Conditions:
Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling; ability to lift 25 pounds to waist high, frequent use of small hand tools and electronic equipment; travel as necessary. Position requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, overhead reaching, sitting, and keyboarding.
