This role is important to shaping the success of our Marketplace Professional Sellers. You'll be a vital link between Trade Me and our key retail merchants, driving sales growth and revenue, building lasting relationships, and maximizing retention. You’ll work proactively to understand their business needs and contribute to their e-commerce success on Trade Me.

Here is what you can expect from this role:

  • Own and Cultivate Key Relationships: You will manage a dedicated portfolio of key retail merchants, serving as their primary point of contact and building multi-level, trust-based partnerships
  • Drive Revenue and Growth: You'll proactively identify opportunities to grow your accounts, upselling premium products, introduce new packages, presenting promotional opportunities, and developing strategies to expand our partnership and boost seller conversion
  • Leverage Data for Success: You will analyze seller performance data, set up regular reporting, and translate your findings into actionable, data-driven insights and recommendations that help your clients succeed
  • Act as a Strategic Partner: By understanding your clients' strategic objectives, you will contribute to their retention, act as their internal champion, and collaborate across our Product, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure their needs are met
  • Work with other members of our Marketplace team to investigate and develop additional revenue opportunities

What you will bring to our team:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an intermediate account management role, preferable with Key Account Management experience
  • Experience growing and strengthening relationships with clients at all levels
  • Proven success in negotiation and presenting commercial deals persuasively
  • A background in digital sales or digital marketing
  • Seasoned experience and in-depth knowledge of the e-commerce industry, digital marketing concepts, and online retail trends
  • Solid analytical skills - the ability to see opportunities through effective use of data
  • Strong presentation skills - the ability to deliver a compelling story
  • A genuine curiosity to uncover and solve customer challenges
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is desirable
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
