What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in implementing our new Cloud based Supply Chain Management solution and specifically by managing business requirements and leading the functional design, prototyping and process design stages of our Cloud ERP implementation. Including partnering with our Systems Integrator (SI) partner, other technology teams and internal SMEs.
  • Work with fellow CarMax associates to understand the real-life process and data challenges in our Supply Chain and discover what they need to create a seamless customer experience and an efficient associate experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in product design, product management, systems architecture and various operational and technical teams to develop solutions and bring great ideas to life.
  • Market your innovative ideas internally and evolve them according to feedback and critique within an agile environment.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and best practice to continuously improve what we do and ensure our customer and associate experience is the best it can be.

Purpose of the role

As a Principal Functional Analyst, you will play a hands-on configuration and solution design role for our Supply Chain Management system. You’ll work closely with business SMEs, product teams, our store associates (who perform vehicle reconditioning repairs), and a leading Systems Integrator. This is a high-impact role where your functional expertise will shape the future of how we manage vehicle repair operations, parts, labor, sublet, and planning.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required and 7+ years of relevant work experience or

Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required and 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Supply Chain
  • Ability to play a lead role in a major initiative, and work alongside a Systems Integrator
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

Software Specific Qualifications and Requirements

Experience in the following required:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience as a functional analyst or systems consultant, with at least 3+ years in Core Oracle SCM Cloud (Fusion) performing hands-on configuration and solution design
  • Proven track record of being a leader for Oracle SCM Cloud implementations, including direct responsibility for module configuration, system setups, and functional design documentation.
  • Functional professional with experience in at one or more of the following: Manufacturing, Procurement, Maintenance, Quality Management, or Supply Planning
  • Demonstrated leadership in functional testing, issue resolution, data validation, data conversion, and user acceptance testing support
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders, store operations associates, and product teams to design and deploy Oracle-based solutions that meet operational need
  • Develop, design, test and validate configuration/customizing related to new business processes developed as part of the business process improvement initiatives either as production support initiatives or in new projects.
  • Work with the in-house development team by providing functional specifications for new development/configuration; test and validate the development/configuration for release to production and business use.
  • Work independently with business process owners on presenting innovative solutions, leading workshops from scoping phase through realization phase of the projects.

Experience in the following preferred:

  • Understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes, with experience with vehicle reconditioning, parts procurement, vendor sublet management, and internal costing
  • Familiarity with Oracle tools and technologies, including:
    • OTBI or BI Publisher for reporting
    • Oracle APEX or Visual Builder for UI extensions
    • Web services and REST APIs for functional integration testing
  • One or more Oracle Cloud SCM certifications, especially in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Procurement, or Supply Planning
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions relevant supply chain or employee productivity
  • Experience mentoring other team members
  • Microsoft SQL Server Scripting and Data Models
  • API designs (REST & SOAP) – working knowledge

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the

Richmond, VA Technology Innovation Center OR Dallas, TX Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
