Position Summary

To support New Services and Software verification activities across Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring compliance with operator and regulatory requirements. Reports directly to the Field-Test Sub-Part Lead and Technical Team Lead.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Conduct field testing and software verification for new devices, software releases and services across assigned African markets.
  • Verify software stability, network compatibility, accessory integration and technical acceptance with mobile operators.
  • Manage operator approvals (TA) and liaise with carriers on SIMs, network configurations and compliance expectations.
  • Lead issue resolution and software defect tracking, ensuring improvements are verified and regression risks mitigated.
  • Support MPS (Mobile Product Specification) accuracy across all Buyer Codes.
  • Provide training and updates to carriers, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to HQ reporting initiatives and lead the implementation of local quality enhancement feedback processes.
  • Manage regulatory compliance across assigned countries and submit weekly updates.
  • Travel as needed for FTR support, market issue investigations and emerging technology validation (eSIM, IMS, 5G, etc.).

Skills and Qualifications

  • Lead end-to-end project management for assigned markets, operators and devices
  • Manage and complete field testing and certification approval processes
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with all levels of operator personnel and key customers.
  • Provide R&D support—including device testing and issue resolution tailored to regional carrier requirements.
  • Support general administrative functions related to field operations and reporting

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • T3/S4/N6 in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Relevant telecom verification certifications (ISTQB, Agile, etc.)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mobile quality verification or telecom quality verification
  • Proficiency in GSM/UMTS/LTE/NR/IMS testing methodologies
  • Experience interpreting and managing device logs, test cases and automation environments
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office, Windows); knowledge of Samsung tools advantageous
  • Exposure to operator relationships and field-based project management
  • Solid communication, analytical and planning capabilities
