JOB SUMMARY

At GoHealth Urgent Care, we strive to provide an effortless experience to our customers, providers, and staff. We are constantly innovating and looking for new ways to use technology to enhance our customers’ interaction.

This position will play a key role in designing and enhancing our patient digital experience through the GoHealth Urgent Care website as well as our consumer-facing web and mobile applications to give our customers peace of mind when they need urgent care. These applications achieve outcomes such as allowing a patient to complete their demographic and insurance details in an efficient and secure manner and feed the information seamlessly into the electronic medical record system. This position will contribute to the design of the production applications and will be working with both the software development team and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to deliver an unparalleled user experience. Responsibilities will also include working with internal and external teams across the organization to understand our customers’ needs and service offerings and use that information to shape the design and functionality offered in our digital products.

The role will require collaboration with diverse roles including marketing, physicians, customer experience, operations leadership, as well as others within the IT team. It will require excellent communication skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail to be able to ask the right questions and gather all the appropriate information needed to design new features with usability in mind and iterate and suggest improvements to existing ones.

Job Requirements

Education

  • 4-year Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or related degree required (or equivalent experience)

Work Experience

  • 4-5 years of hands-on experience performing UX design analysis, conducting user studies, leading A/B testing, and designing user interfaces for the web and mobile devices that adhere to best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Figma specifically)
  • Experience with user research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, etc.
  • Experience using AI applications for rapid prototyping (Lovable, v0.dev, Replit, etc).
  • Experience working with both technical and non-technical business partners.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies, practices, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong background in experience design and storytelling
  • Experience creating and working with personas.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and market research data into conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, prototypes, etc.
  • Comfortable giving presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to diverse audiences
  • Ability to perform UAT (user acceptance testing) to ensure development meets agreed upon design requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present designs and UX concepts to non-design stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1
  • Strong understanding of user centered design principles and methodologies
  • Experience with A/B testing and related tools and technologies.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.
  • Healthcare-specific experience is a plus but not required
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles is preferred but not required

Essential Functions

  • Work with product owners and stakeholders across the organization to design experiences that meet business requirements and adhere to UX best practices.
  • Conduct research, studies, and interviews to improve the usability of existing interfaces and applications.
  • Lead and facilitate design workshops and reviews.
  • Lead A/B testing initiatives and use data to make informed UI/UX related design changes and decisions.
  • Collaborate with the development, marketing, operations teams, etc. to ensure that production software meets business needs.
  • Help review, verify, and test features and fixes developed by the developers.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining up-to-date documentation for current and future systems, integrations, and processes.
  • Help the product team define acceptance criteria and perform User Acceptance Testing before releases.
  • Communicate and demo product features and functionality to end users and other business stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You'll also be collaborating with a great team of people moving exciting projects forward and working to deliver an effortless patient and staff experience along the way.
