Shape the future of DevOps at Gallup by designing and scaling modern, cloud-native pipelines from the ground up.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to take the lead in building and growing our DevOps capabilities. In this high-impact role, you’ll be responsible for designing and optimizing release pipelines, driving automation, and implementing cloud infrastructure that accelerates delivery and ensures high availability. You’ll work closely with developers, architects, security associates and operations teams to establish best practices and bring stability and scalability to our engineering workflows.

You’ll develop systems that power global insights — analyzing what the world is thinking and delivering employee engagement, strengths development and wellbeing solutions — among other high-impact projects. If you’re a proven DevOps leader ready to fuel innovation and make a global impact, apply today.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive strategic decision-making in collaboration with software engineering, infrastructure and security teams to streamline delivery, reliability and observability
  • Design, implement and maintain GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines that support our diverse set of applications and services
  • Foster and grow our DevOps practices across platforms and environments — you’ll be instrumental in building the DevOps structure, not just maintaining it
  • Manage releases across multiple AWS regions and environments, ensuring seamless delivery
  • Solve complex infrastructure and deployment challenges with a strong focus on scalability, observability and automation
  • Support teams working across Java, Python and .NET applications, quickly understanding and adapting to full-stack architectures and deployment flows
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a DevOps culture across teams and helping junior members grow in both technical and operational skill sets

What Makes You Stand Out

  • DevOps leadership: You’ve built or significantly scaled a DevOps practice from the ground up.
  • Strategic technical ownership: You have a strong sense of ownership in guiding DevOps strategy, tooling choices and architectural direction.
  • Hands-on expertise with modern tools: You have deep experience with GitHub Actions (CI/CD), AWS ECS, Docker and/or Podman container tooling, Terraform, CloudFormation, and observability tools like Dynatrace.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: You work seamlessly with diverse application teams and quickly integrate into their workflows.
  • Mentorship and team growth: You have a proven track record of mentoring others and fostering a culture of continuous improvement — this is a senior leadership role with expectations to grow and uplift others.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or a related field, or equivalent experience, required
  • At least five years of experience designing and managing CI/CD solutions (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) required
  • At least five years of experience working with AWS cloud technologies and IaC including ECS, Lambda and Terraform required

  • Deep knowledge of security and compliance industry best practices required
  • Experience leading DevOps initiatives required
  • Familiarity with networking and system administration required
  • Working experience in an Agile environment required
  • At least two years of experience leading technical design and implementation of DevOps solutions required
  • A demonstrated track record of mentoring and supporting the growth of other engineers required
  • Exposure to large, complex software solutions preferred
  • Must live within a 60-mile radius of San Francisco
  • A commitment to working on-site at a local Gallup workspace in San Francisco at least three days a week required

What You’ll Experience
