Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) invites applications for the role of Education Coordinator in the Office of Statewide Initiatives (OSI) based in Elko, Nevada.
The Education Coordinator serves as the primary rural coordinator for the Frontier Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholars and the Inter-Professional Education students under the direction of the Directors for the AHEC (Frontier AHEC) and AHEC Program. This position will support the Elko Family Medicine Residency program for clinic placements and coordination of experiences. The unit has also received the new Maternal Child Health Primary Care Training and Enhancement (PCTE) grant and the Education Coordinator will support logistics of education, training and activities associated with this project under the direction of the Program Director and Family Medicine Faculty.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of competency in project management, detail orientation, and time management. Effective communication will be integral to success in the role and will involve student recruitment, community event participation, project and program coordination with multiple stakeholders, and liaising with a variety of offices and institutions. Adaptability and flexibility in coordination, including the ability to independently identify opportunities and sound judgment in initiating/prioritizing them, are key competencies. Data compilation and reporting will be essential in support of the role’s functions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related professional experience OR
Master’s Degree and one year of related professional experience.
Related Experience: in rural health, medical practice, or health care and/or experience in developing and/or managing educational programs
Certification and Licensure: Nevada Driver’s License upon date of hire
Schedule or Travel Requirements: variable schedule, in-state and out-of-state travel
