Senior Developer (Python)

We're seeking a seasoned Python Developer to lead the development of high-performance backend systems and microservices. In this role, you'll architect scalable REST APIs, optimize distributed workflows, and work across cloud platforms like AWS and GCP. You’ll apply deep knowledge of relational databases, DevOps tooling, and infrastructure-as-code practices to deliver robust solutions. Ideal candidates are passionate about clean code, cloud-native design, and mentoring others—all while staying ahead with GenAI tools like Copilot and Gemini.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems and microservices using Python.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs using frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI. Architect and optimize microservice interactions and overall system flow.
  • Analyze existing application setups and logic to identify performance bottlenecks and propose/implement optimization solutions. Integrate third-party APIs and services securely and efficiently.
  • Work comfortably with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL), including schema design, indexing, and fine-tuning queries, views, and functions. Apply Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) concepts effectively.
  • Utilize strong knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, IAM, VPC, CFT/CDK/CloudFormation, SQS, CloudFront, Step Functions, CloudWatch). Contribute to the design and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation).
  • Leverage hands-on experience with GCP services (e.g., Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, GCS, Cloud Run, Kubernetes, Composer, Secrets, API Gateway, VM).
  • Implement and utilize cloud monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, or equivalents). Create and maintain clear, precise, and version-controlled technical documentation.
  • Guide and mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and functional test coverage.
  • Adhere to industry best practice standards throughout the software development lifecycle. Actively participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, demonstrating strong problem-solving and communication skills. Potentially contribute to or lead technical aspects of cloud migration efforts from GCP to AWS.

Required Qualifications:

  • Programming Languages: Python 3 (Primary), Java(Optional)
  • Frameworks: FastAPI, Flask, Springboot (Java)
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, VPC, S3, CFT, SQS, CloudFront, Step Functions, CloudWatch, RDS, IAM), GCP (Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Kubernetes, Secrets, Composer, API Gateway, GCS, VM)
  • DevOps: Azure DevOps, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Docker
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MSSQL
  • Tools: Visual Studio, STS, Microsoft Server Management Studio, Swagger/OpenAPI, PgAdmin, Docker, Postman, Grafana (or equivalent)
  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
