The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

Join the laboratory of Dr Mustafa Khairallah, in collaboration with Prof. Thomas Peyrin, at SPMS. We are seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to a project focused on design and analysis of cryptographic modes of operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze new and existing modes of operation.
• Formulate cryptographic security notions.
• Write security proofs for cryptographic algorithms.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent (for PO and Research Assistant equivalent) degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• At least 1 years of relevant experiences in similar role / technical hands-on experience in specific scope. Academic experience counts.
• Familiarity with required scope (e.g. national codes and standards)
• Good written and oral communication skills (if applicable)
• Proficiency in probability theory, discrete mathematics and/or cryptographic design.
• Competent in soft skills / general personality traits e.g. information visualization, interaction design
• Interpersonal skill.
