About the Role

Are you passionate about solving complex problems and building innovative solutions alongside a team of talented professionals? Ensono is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and implementing data solutions that power our client portal and internal platforms.

You will be responsible for managing and evolving our integrated database environment, with a focus on ingesting and transforming metrics from z/OS mainframe systems into actionable data layers. This role requires close collaboration with Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure data solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize PostgreSQL & snowflake database schemas, queries, and structures to support application performance and scalability.
• Configure and maintain database environments, including installation, replication, clustering, and high availability.
• Monitor database performance and proactively address bottlenecks to ensure system reliability and responsiveness.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python for database monitoring, backups, and deployment tasks.
• Implement robust database security practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe-generated metrics into modern data platforms.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in database administration or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing and maintaining data structures and related elements in Mainframe Systems
• Expertise in PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning.
• Good to have experience in Snowflake and Azure Data Factory.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting.
• Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jira, Git/SVN, and Jenkins.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Working knowledge of networking and security concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with z/OS mainframe systems and data ingestion pipelines.
• Industry certifications in database technologies or cloud platforms.

Shift Timings: 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST
