As a Software Engineer II – AWS Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a pivotal role in our engineering community, driving innovative solutions that support our expanding business and enhance the experience of millions of customers. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cloud platforms using automated processes and tools to enhance the developer experience.
  • Design, implement, and support software and AWS solutions to optimize contact centre operations and improve customer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create secure, compliant solutions that adhere to audit regulations.
  • Produce high-quality code to enhance application performance and operational efficiency.
  • Establish monitoring and alerting systems to ensure component reliability and platform performance.
  • Test releases and updates to ensure smooth deployment and operation.
  • Proactively improve processes, address challenges, and support team members.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to provide timely support and resolve issues.
  • Engage with the broader software engineering community to share best practices and drive team growth.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and respect, promoting collaboration and support within the team.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for building scalable and robust solutions, particularly in back-end development.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud, particularly AWS, utilizing services like EC2, S3, Glue, Lambdas, and DynamoDB.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservice architecture, including RESTful APIs and web technologies.
  • Strong grasp of DevOps principles and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.
  • Experience in infrastructure development using Terraform, with a strong emphasis on automation and scalability.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, set up monitoring and alerting systems, and conduct thorough testing using various methodologies and frameworks.
  • Experience with tools for managing microservices in production environments, including tracing, monitoring, and metrics gathering.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to understand and support voice-based platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to improving processes and addressing challenges.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Familiarity with software engineering security best practices in a cloud environment.
  • Formal training or certification on developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud concepts and proficient advanced experience.
  • Experience in integrating Python applications with other technologies and platforms, including cloud services and APIs.
  • Experience developing unit, integration, and end-to-end software tests.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and involvement in strategic projects.
