We are seeking a skilled and experienced Unix VMware Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Unix/Linux systems and VMware virtualization platforms. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

What will your job look like?

  • Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, AIX, etc.)
  • Manage and support VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning
  • Monitor system health and troubleshoot hardware/software issues
  • Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Ensure system security and compliance with internal and external standards
  • Collaborate with storage, network, and application teams to support business needs
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures

All you need is...

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration
  • 3+ years of experience managing VMware environments
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, Powershell ) , Jenkins , Docker.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana,Telegraf)
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management
  • Sound understanding of IT Management services like Mail , DNS & Proxy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VMware certifications (VCP-DCV or higher)
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins )
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with SAN/NAS storage systems
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • RHEL Certification .

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support
