Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining CNC Press Brakes to perform precision sheet metal forming. This role involves working with materials ranging in thickness from 0.050” to 0.375”.

Responsibilities

  • Program, operate, and maintain CNC Press Brake for precision sheet metal forming.
  • Plan and organize work activities in a logical manufacturing order.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and layouts.
  • Alter product dimensions under supervisor guidance to meet application demands.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineering personnel to address discrepancies or make suggestions on drawings.
  • Familiarity with standard drill and tap sizes; experience with tapping arms is advantageous.
  • Use hydraulic sheet metal rollers to create cylindrical and conical sheet metal products.
  • Apply industrial paint using HVLP conventional paint systems, including preparing materials, mixing paint, applying primer/paint, and maintaining spray booths.
  • Operate angle grinders for grinding, deburring, and cutting.
  • Utilize hand drills, magnetic drills, and drill press machines for drilling, reaming, and countersinking.
  • Operate shears and iron workers.
  • Handle materials, unload trucks, and place products in proper locations.
  • Perform routine machine and plant maintenance.
  • Use forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices.
  • Operate horizontal and vertical band saws.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Comply with all company safety and personnel policies.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with CNC Press Brake programming and operation.
  • Basic blueprint reading and layout skills.
  • Knowledge of drill press operations and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with austenitic stainless steel, aluminum, and low carbon grade steel.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment

Work in a facility dedicated to manufacturing and installing industrial ovens, with 30 employees on the floor and 5 in the machining department. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and a t-shirt.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bangor, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
