Job Title: Production Operator

Job Description

Cell Operators are responsible for managing their designated 'Cell' to carry rubber products for the automotive industry through the production cycle. The process is consistent across different cells, involving several repetitive tasks that require precision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Fill the molding tool with raw material, ensuring each slot is filled with metal rings.
  • Flip the prepared molding tool onto the machine and begin filling the next tool.
  • Remove the molded tool from the machine, cool the product using an air brush, and knock off the finished rubber parts onto a table.
  • Visually inspect the finished products for defects such as air bubbles or rips.
  • Weigh the inspected products to ensure the correct count and move them to the next stage.
  • Conduct quality checks using a binder that outlines specific defects to look for, possibly using a magnifying glass attachment.
  • Maintain a shift log that records operator details, maintenance performed, scrap tracking, production goals, machine temperature, and product specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.
  • Attention to detail in inspecting and sorting products.
  • Experience in production operation, machine operation, and industrial manufacturing.
  • Ability to lift 35lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in assembly, construction, material handling, inventory, and general production.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Must be okay with a non-smoking environment during work hours.

Work Environment

Operators work in shifts with the possibility of weekends and overtime. The facility is climate-controlled, and employees are allowed drinks on the floor. PPE includes gloves, safety glasses, and Kevlar sleeves, with a dress code of shorts and regular shoes. The workplace offers a true 8-hour shift with paid breaks, and smoking or leaving the facility during shifts is not permitted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morristown, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
