Job Overview:
Manages the daily clinical, financial, and quality performance and outcome of our Med/Surg Unit. Assumes 24-hour accountability as appropriate to the service line. Contributes to and supports the hospital's mission, strategic goals, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of and integrates the use of evidence-based outcomes for nursing practice. Integrates principles of growth and development in directing/providing care appropriate to the ages served.
Unit Overview:
The Telemetry-Stepdown unit is a 21-bed (15 Telemetry/6 Stepdown) unit specializing in the care of the Telemetry and Stepdown patient. This unit is located on the third floor of the North Tower of Deaconess Henderson Hospital. This unit cares for complex medical surgical patients, cardiac patients, stroke patients, sepsis and other diagnoses including patients requiring closer monitoring. Our patient population offers a great variety of learning opportunities related to cardiac rhythms and EKG’s, medication drips requiring titration, and NIH stroke scale. Teamwork is a priority on our busy unit as we strive to provide safe and high-quality care to our patients.
