About the department

This role is part of the Obesity Business Unit and reports to the Area Sales Manager. You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to promoting Novo Nordisk’s innovative products and making a difference in the lives of patients. The position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for achieving sales targets within a designated territory by pursuing active leads and developing new customers. The BDR generates demand through tailored initiatives and enhances product value by implementing local strategies aligned with the Novo Nordisk Way.

Other role expectations are as follows but is not limited to:

  • The role involves leading business development for target customer segments by identifying growth opportunities and creating demand generation strategies to enhance healthcare professional (HCP) and patient awareness. This includes executing territory-based programs to sustain demand, organizing high-value meetings with key gatekeepers and stakeholders, and developing a prioritization plan for projects and opportunities within the territory.
  • The role also focuses on developing demand for prescription products in target clinics and emerging segments by gaining a deep understanding of insights, unmet needs, and pain points. Responsibilities include serving as a key resource for healthcare professionals by answering product-related queries and providing technical support, as well as leveraging company-provided platforms and technologies to enhance sales activities and expand outreach.
  • The role involves monitoring competition, market changes, and industry trends by conducting surveillance on competitor developments, tactical initiatives, and market share growth within the territory. This includes performing competitive analyses to assess the strengths and weaknesses of competitor products and identifying potential partnerships and collaborations to broaden market reach and enhance product offerings.
  • The role emphasizes execution excellence by mastering operational reports and administrative duties, which includes regularly providing sales forecasts and preparing territory performance reviews. It requires the timely submission of reports and documentation in line with company policies, as well as ensuring that healthcare professional (HCP) interactions adhere to ethical practices and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a four-year undergraduate course, with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Communications, or any related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative, with string understanding of insight-driven & patient-centric approaches.
  • Experience in omnichannel and digital strategies is an advantage.
  • Must have a go-getter mindset; experience in achieving financial targets and similar measures.
  • English proficiency, both written and spoken.
