YOUR IMPACT:

OpenText is seeking a Software Engineer to work on the architecture, design and implementation of a product that provides reliable data protection and high accessibility for rapidly growing business data. The product is a large scale, highly distributed data protection solution.

This engineer will report into the Manager of the Data Protector development Team, work across engineering disciplines, participate in requirements specifications, define architecture, and contribute to the design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of all components associated with the solution’s management back-end.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:

  • Work with Product management, engineering management and help architect the roadmap and product.
  • Analyze technical requirements, design applications, identify new technologies, and integrate solutions into existing products.
  • Develop prototypes and influence stakeholders
  • Conduct Architecture, Design reviews, and code-reviews to ensure adherence to patterns and standards.
  • Development of software in an agile development environment
  • Involved in the various phases of the SDLC, secure coding and reviews.
  • Mentor juniors on domain, technology, and process.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • 10+ years in a developer position working with C/C++
  • Solid design skills; OOM/OOD, patterns, etc.
  • Experience building large scale and highly distributed, applications
  • Experience building applications on top of Windows and Linux platforms
  • Awareness of security issues and avoidance, specifically with LAN/WAN based applications
  • Use of standard development tools; source control, IDE, unit test, etc.
  • Exposure to scrum methodology
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Desire to work in an exciting and challenging atmosphere
  • A strong desire to develop your career through self-learning and scheduled personal development time.
  • Experience of working in an Agile based development environment in various roles.
  • Experience with design architectural patterns, design patterns.

  • You are determined to understand cyber attack techniques at a very detailed level.
  • You are a self-starter who is able to work with minimal management, however have strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work together with several other professionals from other information security fields.

  • You have a desire to learn new technologies.
