The Standard Container Program Manager is responsible for all standard container packaging for new model launches. This position may also program manage several small programs and/or launches. The program manager is responsible for:
- Managing and supporting Tier 1 project management services who work as liaisons between the suppliers and Stellantis on packaging design, development and delivery of standard containers
- maintaining launch KPIs.
- Validating 198/092 requests for reimbursement of expendable packaging.
- Interacting and engaging with cross-functional teams (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Supply Base, etc.) to ensure management of material handling requirements, and risks.
- Ensuring that the highest densities possible are reached while shipping a quality part.
- Creating new and improved standards and best practices.
- Participating in global teams dedicated to the design and density process.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities related to packaging improvement.
KPIs:
- Baseline packaging plans established
- Supplier packaging plans approved by plant launch team
- Pilot containers delivered
- Production containers delivered
- % of program parts in standard containers
- Annual packaging improvement savings
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Packaging, Industrial, Mechanical or equivalent technical degree required.
- Minimum five years of experience in material handling rack fabrication, rack design, or material handling program management
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex issues as well as manage through all aspects of the daily business, including escalation and communication as required
- Ability to implement, sustain, and improve new or existing specialized packaging build processes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
