Summary
The Manager of Fleet position will provide detailed planning, procurement and maintenance for all of Columbia Distributing’s fleet assets. In addition, The Manager of Fleet will be responsible and held accountable for the annual budgeting cycle, executing to set-forth budget and providing key insights to the Director of Logistics and Indirect Procurement; as well as Executive and Senior leadership stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive fleet management strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives
- Planning and managing the acquisition and Life Cycle of assets, considering factors such as costs, fuel efficiency and operational needs
- Work with Branch Leadership including Sales and Operations to determine Capital needs for the upcoming budget year
- Work with Routing Leadership to access planned added or reduced routes for the upcoming budget year
- Maintaining and managing the CapEx budget planning and execution process for the fleet
- Managing all aspects of the procurement of fleet assets, including company cars and vans
- Managing Capital repairs that extend the life of the asset
- Processing and maintaining fleet licenses and registration including WA DOL, OR DOT, OR DMV, and Federal HVUT
- Complete and process for payment Oregon DOT Weight & Mileage taxes monthly
- Manage fleet transponders in Oregon and Washington
- Managing Columbia’s Fuel program as it pertains to new and life cycled fleet assets
- Tracking, maintaining and monitoring the movement of fleet between locations with respect to IRP and IFTA compliance and regulations
- Ensuring that the fleet meets or exceeds all safety criteria set by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and other regulatory agencies
- Completing all other tasks or projects as assigned.

Key Competencies
- Knowledge and understanding of FMCSR and DOT regulations
- Ability to execute multiple IT solutions including but, not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Anaplan Budget Solution, Maintenance Connection Asset Solution and Workday RFP Solution

- This position will not manage any employees.
Work Environment
- Mostly corporate office along with warehouse/distribution in a multi-unit business model
Physical Demands
- Mostly office environment but lifting of up to 25 pounds might be needed when working certain categories
Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days/hours of work are flexible and may include minimal weekends or off hours during stages of different projects when needed.
Travel
- This role requires annual travel to each of our locations at least once per year, additional travel as necessary
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required
Preferred Experience and Education
- Fleet management experience preferred
Compensation
- Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
