Job Summary
Towson University (TU) is one of the nation’s top 100 public universities. Located north of Baltimore, TU currently enrolls over 19,000 students and is the second-largest university in the prestigious University System of Maryland. The Groundskeeper performs duties in the maintenance of grounds and outdoor facilities including stormwater facilities for Towson University through activities including cultivating, planting gardens, watering, fertilizing, weeding, lawn, mowing, trimming and pruning shrubs and trees. This position performs activities in all types of weather conditions including snow removal. This position requires a broad range of skill sets including the ability to operate or learn to operate hand tools and multiple types of motorized landscape equipment. The selected candidate must be able to pass the registered pesticide applicator training and must have a driver’s license. Typical Hours are 6am-2:30pm.
Salary and Benefits
$38,000 annually and full University benefits that includes annual leave, up to 15 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission. When applicable, a 2.5% increase may be added to the annual salary, pending successful completion of the initial six-month probationary period, for this position.
