Job Description
Role Purpose: Drive sales growth and Alipay+ acceptance with existing and new Key Accounts (KAs) in Italy, focusing on travel shopping merchants. This role requires payments industry expertise (ideally including knowledge on acquiring and ATM solutions) and a flexible, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Build and manage strong relationships with C-level and operational contacts at major Key Accounts.
- Identify and pursue new merchant opportunities to expand Alipay+ reach.
- Promote Alipay+ payment and marketing services, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Analyse market trends, merchant needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Coordinate with acquirers, legal, product, and tech teams during negotiations and integrations.
- Monitor account performance and drive actions to improve results.
- Support strategic initiatives to position Alipay+ as a preferred payment partner.
Requirements And Skills
- 5+ years’ experience in payments, acquiring, or merchant development (experience with ATM or in-store solutions preferred).
- Proven track record driving sales and enabling new merchants, ideally in luxury, retail, or travel sectors.
- Strong network with major Italian banks, merchants and ecosystem players.
- Deep understanding of card and alternative payments (wallets, BNPL, account-to-account).
- Familiarity with Chinese/Asian payment ecosystems and shopping behaviours.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and sales skills.
- Flexible, self-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Fluent in English and Italian (Chinese, Spanish and/or French are a plus).
