Job Title: Quality Inspector – Precision Metal Parts

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to ensure the quality and precision of metal parts manufactured in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inspection techniques, mechanical drawings, and precision measuring instruments to maintain product standards and compliance with customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision metal parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and optical comparators.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed inspection records.
  • Identify and report non-conformances; assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Verify that all products meet quality standards and customer requirements before shipment.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and ensure compliance with ISO or AS9100 standards if applicable.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and quality audits.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a precision machining or metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with quality software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing floor and inspection lab environment.
  • May require standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
