Your Job

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) Logical Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the logical design, development, and management of our MSSQL databases. You will collaborate closely with our Product development and infrastructure teams to ensure the optimal performance, availability, and security of our databases.

What You Will Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain logical database schemas, tables, indexes, and views in MSSQL Server environments.
  • Develop and optimize database stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Monitor database performance and proactively tune SQL queries for efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain database security best practices, including user access control and data encryption.
  • Manage database backups, replication, and clustering for high availability and disaster recovery purposes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
  • Collaborate with application developers to integrate databases with applications and optimize system performance based on the product requirements & best practices for Siemens Teamcenter & Siemens Opcenter applications.
  • Assist in planning and executing database upgrades, migrations, and patches.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest MSSQL Server features, tools, and best practices.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Proven work experience as a MSSQL Database Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL programming and performance tuning in MSSQL Server environments.
  • Solid understanding of MSSQL Server architecture, including replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
  • Experience in database design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and system outages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented approach.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Familiarity with AWS SQL Database or other cloud-based MSSQL offerings.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for database automation tasks.
  • Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups for high availability solutions.
