Shift: First Shift (Mon - Fri)

Compensation: $20.50/HR

Position Summary:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Material Handler II and be part of an exceptionally dedicated team! This role, under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Supervisor, is pivotal in ensuring flawless order fulfillment and shipment preparation. Your contributions will help us maintain our world-class standards and deliver outstanding service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fill customer orders by acquiring materials from designated picking bays and completing paperwork to indicate quantities picked.
  • Prepare merchandise for shipment by verifying goods according to quantity, catalog number, and size against the Pick List. Restack and consolidate goods on accurate skids as per customer instructions, apply computerized shipping labels, and stretch wrap for shipment when necessary.
  • Complete all necessary shipping paperwork, including Packing Lists and Bills of Lading. Stage orders on the floor or load them directly onto spotted trailers.
  • Apply material handling equipment like hand trucks and motorized pallet trucks efficiently.
  • Perform all required warehouse transactions in the SAP operating system on a PC.
  • Operate the Trax, UPS, and Federal Express manifesting systems.
  • Complete Cycle Count Sheets when inventory discrepancies arise.
  • Closely align with all warehouse safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain general housekeeping duties to keep the warehouse organized and clean.
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently using good judgment.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability for overtime during the week and on weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $14.41–$20.80.
