Job Title: Material Handler - 1st Shift

Job Description

The material handler position is a crucial part of facility operations. This role involves the pick-up and movement of materials from one department to another to meet daily and weekly production needs. Efficiency, attention to detail, and safety are essential components of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload finished and unfinished products.
  • Deliver material to designated departments.
  • Pick up finished goods and deliver them to specific holding areas.
  • Organize stock efficiently using forklifts, pallets, cranes, etc.
  • Pull material to fulfill current order demand for specific departments.

Essential Skills

  • Material handling and general labor experience.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and handling materials in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with inventory management and RF scanners.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks and packaging tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Experience in using warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Adherence to proper PPE requirements.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and noise levels. The position requires standing for up to six hours per day, with occasional sitting. Candidates must be capable of lifting 0-50 lbs. in the proper ergonomic position. The facility provides state-of-the-art equipment and resources in a strategic North American location.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Binghamton, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
