Job Description

As a QA Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of baked goods. You will be responsible for testing products, maintaining records, preparing sales samples, and handling customer returns, all while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Test Baked Goods: Collect samples from Frozen, Dry Mix, and Wet Mix products, ensuring sample composition matches production records and retrieving any missing ones. Weigh, measure, thaw, proof, bake/fry samples, and document results. Re-test out-of-spec products and put them on hold if issues persist. Re-test frozen samples after 3 months.
  • Record Test Results: Enter data into the computer program and maintain accurate and legible records to be used in SQF and HACCP audits.
  • Prepare Sales Samples: Support sales presentations and customer samples for the retail-ready bakery department, including required documentation.
  • Handle Customer Returns: Hold returned products until quality disposition is determined. Re-test and document condition, then communicate results.
  • Inspect production equipment and set up before runs begin for the day based on product schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Baking experience with exposure to a wide variety of products
  • Food quality assurance testing experience, preferably in the baked goods industry
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, Email, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic lab equipment/tools
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
