Rivian Automotive

About Us

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

Join our team in building an exciting new software-defined vehicle architecture, and help shape the future of automotive by contributing to one of the industry's most advanced platforms. We are specifically developing a modern, multilingual messaging framework and are seeking a talented and motivated engineer passionate about quality, automated testing, and systems integration. We appreciate individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate a strong desire to learn, and thrive in collaborative environments.

  • Assume full ownership of the system under test, including designing, maintaining, and expanding automated test suites to ensure up-to-date test coverage.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams and cross-functional stakeholders to thoroughly understand the system and its interfaces, and to develop comprehensive automation strategies and test plans.
  • Coordinate with other testing teams to establish verification approaches for the entire ecosystem, clarifying component ownership and boundaries.
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve complex system issues identified during testing. Log defects and verify implemented fixes

  • Strong familiarity with software engineering principles, including development best practices and code review processes.
  • Proven experience in non-UI level testing, such as messaging systems, protocol validation, and REST API testing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately identify faulty components when tests fail.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines to automate test execution.
