Profile Description
We’re seeking someone to join our team as (Director). The mainframe communicates with software running on Linux and Windows server environments. Likewise, our clients have extensive use of data on the mainframe via this interoperability. This role is for an administrator of distributed (non-mainframe) software and its configuration for interoperability to the mainframe-based databases. In addition, the role involves overseeing paths out of the mainframe to open systems-based databases. Please note that mainframe knowledge and interaction, only represents about 6% of this job function.

What you’ll do in the role:
Monitor driver use across a varied Java based client community.
Trace, collect and maintain inventory of inbound and outbound IP traffic to selected distributed/non mainframe databases (DB2 on Linux, Sybase Greenplum).
Monitor inbound/outbound traffic for performance opportunities. Load balancing, port sharing etc.
Track and enforce security standards (TLS/SSL SLL, Kerberos,) for mainframe database access. Refresh and update entitlements for mainframe database access on schedule.
Update and maintain driver software for mainframe database (ADABAS, DB2) access.
Implement database turnover requests for all APG groups and application for all environments.
Perform verification for database maintenance upgrades of driver software.
Execute Weekend verification involving the running of the IVP/RFB and weekend checkouts for infrastructure on and off mainframe.
Preparing for, coordinating, writing up and communicating the summary of the weekend work.
What you’ll bring to the role:
At least 4+ years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
Python Programming on Linux/windows.
Linux/Unix, Shell scripting
Database - DB2/UDB, Sybase, Greenplum, MySQL, SQL server.
Networking protocols - TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, Port Security administration.
JAVA Script, JSON formats. Restful APIs.
IBMs Data Virtualization Manager (DVM).
IBMs JGATE middleware. USS environment.
TLS/SSL, Encryption protocols. Port Security administration.
Strong mainframe access methodologies.
Linux->Mainframe X-team integration skills.
Desired skills:
Assets
ADABAS data base on mainframe
IBM ’s z/OS Operating system and Tools (ISPF, TSO, SDSF, JCL)
Perl Scripting
FTP, Rexx
DB2 on mainframe
Agile développent, SDLC, DevOps best practices
Task management using JIRA.
C and C++ Coding and debugging experience.
Knowledge of AFS / NFS setups and loading.
Qualification
University Degree (B.S.)
Experience with Project Management and Agile preferred
Data analysis and manipulation
Scripting/coding experience a plus
Weekend shift and on call rotation required.
