About the Position:
We seek motivated and professional individuals for multiple Driver License Examiner vacancies in Portland, Maine.
As a Driver License Examiner, you will play a vital role in ensuring public safety by administering driving skills exams, evaluating knowledge of traffic laws, and verifying eligibility for licensure. This position requires excellent customer service, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a statewide team. This active role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and statewide travel.
After completing qualification training, examiners are provided with a state vehicle for official travel, uniforms, and an annual uniform maintenance allowance.

Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of work experience affording public contact, knowledge of Maine motor vehicle laws and regulations, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions. Successful candidates will be required to complete an I-9 form upon hire.
