Enrolled Nurse – Lavarack Barracks, Townsville

About the Role

Based at Lavarack Health Centre, you’ll support the wellbeing of approximately 8,000 Defence members. The centre offers a wide range of services including primary care, surgical outpatients, physiotherapy, dental, pharmacy, mental health and a 24/7 inpatient ward.

This part time opportunity involves working regular Wednesday afternoon/evening shifts (1500–2300), with the potential for additional adhoc shifts.

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will:

• Deliver outpatient assessments and promote health education
• Administer medications in accordance with legislation and under RN supervision
• Support patient treatment planning in consultation with RNs
• Provide care to a generally fit and healthy patient cohort
• Escort patients between health facilities (on- and off-base)
• Contribute to clinical governance and patient safety initiatives

What You’ll Need:

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2, General)
• 2+ years’ experience in acute care, primary healthcare, or military settings
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Recent participation in CPD (in line with AHPRA standards)
• Australian Citizenship (Baseline Security Clearance eligibility)
• High integrity, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
