Role

SoFi is looking for a Copywriter to join our internal Creative Studio. You’re a self-starter, team player, and able to quickly adopt our brand tone and style across all of our communications. Your primary role will be to write branded communications across web, digital, social, blog, and print for our lending products. However, you’ll flex to other areas of the Studio as necessary.

What you’ll do

  • Own end-to-end concepting and copywriting for marketing projects, including but not limited to:
    • Email
    • In app messages
    • Social media posts
    • Branding campaign and assets
    • Lead gen campaigns and assets
    • Digital videos
    • Webpages (our site, lead gen pages, partner pages) and other interactive assets
  • Understand the data and allow it to inform your work. Be able to balance what is tried and true while continuing to push the brand.
  • Collaborate closely with the design team to come up with creative solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lifecycle marketing team to help craft prospect and member journeys.
  • Work with your writing teammates and our creative operations team to support the roll out of workflow automation and AI integration for performance based testing. Work with other writers and the creative ops team to help put in place automated workflows and AI for performance testing.
  • Work with stakeholders and reviewers to keep the brand voice consistent.
  • Find new ways to tell our brand story—generating ideas for how branded content can come to life across multiple channels.
  • Edit and proofread your own writing, as well as all content supplied by partners and guest contributors for voice and tone.
  • Work with stakeholders and reviewers to keep the brand voice consistent.
  • Be able to come up with a “big idea” and translate that into everything from email campaigns to paid social videos.
  • Work across multiple projects and manage your time effectively.
  • Present your work to creative leadership and stakeholders with clarity and passion.
  • Don’t be afraid to take risks.

What you'll need

  • Your writing is witty, punchy, and not afraid to push industry boundaries.
  • You know what makes a great headline and subject line.
  • You can adjust SoFi's brand voice and tone based on medium and audience.
  • You’re collaborative. You have experience (and love) partnering with a designer or art director.
  • You’re a fast learner and can hit the ground quickly.
  • You’re curious about using AI products for writing support, or are experienced at AI prompting.
  • You’re all about the data. You love testing copy and iterating based on results.
  • You take initiative, keep organized, and can handle multiple projects at once.
  • You’re strategically minded, with strong problem-solving skills and close attention to detail.
  • You’re enthusiastic about your work and about joining a close-knit team.
  • You have excellent writing and editing skills. (Obviously.)
  • Knowledge of financial services or personal finance a plus.
  • Experience with legal disclosure copy and compliance teams a plus.
  • A minimum of 2+ years writing copy for a brand in an agency or in-house creative department.
  • Bachelor’s degree with English/Advertising/Journalism focus.
