As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank Markets (Macro) Technology Team, you will be part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
• Applies technical troubleshooting to breakdown solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, computer Science or equivalent
• Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience and mid-level proficiency in software development using Python
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with working knowledge of Linux (or similar) infrastructure
• Possess good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a global team
• Demonstrates qualities of a self-starter and willing to work in a dynamic environment with constantly evolving priorities
• Experience in building out observability to continuously understand the health of systems, using Open Telemetry and tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch and Splunk
• Possess ability to analyzing complex systems – failure analysis / root cause analysis, developing, improving, and maintaining technical engineering documentation

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

• Familiarity with modern front end technologies
• Exposure with public cloud platforms (preferred AWS), infrastructure provisioning, software configuration and implementation
• Experience in ReactJS development is preferred
