Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist/Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist/Operator to set up and operate 3-axis vertical mills, primarily using Fanuc controls. The role involves managing the production of parts, ensuring precision and quality, with minimal support from the machine shop department.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3-axis vertical mills.
  • Perform minor editing of programs at the control, including adjustments to feeds, speeds, offsets, and depths.
  • Load programs to CNC milling machines using CAM software.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and job kits.
  • Identify, locate, and build necessary tooling for production.
  • Evaluate materials, parts, and equipment before manufacturing and report concerns to management.
  • Conduct first article inspections and ensure operations are within specifications.
  • Create and edit CNC offsets for fixtures and tooling.
  • Perform multi-fixturing and tool offsets.
  • Conduct quality checks and deliver finished parts to designated areas.
  • Monitor tools for breakage and wear, performing advanced tool maintenance.
  • Assist in training and coaching of junior machinists and interns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read G-code and M-code.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in math.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams.
  • Knowledge and experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • Proficient with manual milling tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school graduate, or 3-5 years of progressive milling experience or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with CAM software and AutoCAD is a plus.

Work Environment

This position requires standing for extended periods and the ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. The work environment may involve exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, and loud noises. Employees must follow basic safety precautions to manage exposure to potential hazards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lititz, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
