The Learning and Development Facilitator (LDF) is primarily responsible for developing and implementing a nationally certified peer tutor training and peer mentor training curriculum. Learning opportunities are focused on developing effective peer tutors and student leaders, while emphasizing professional development and employability skills that will transfer into future academic and career goals. The LDF also develops, delivers, and maintains the Academic Peer Mentoring training program and supports peer leader observations and evaluations. As the primary contact on behalf of the ASC for learning workshops, programming and outreach, the LDF works directly with various campus partners to support students in all phases of their academic journey. The LDF may be directed to teach special topics courses on academic and intellectual wellness as needed. The position also supports the Office of Undergraduate Studies and university-wide initiatives connected to Florida Board of Governors performance-based metrics on academic progress rate, transfer retention, and graduation rates. Additionally, the LDF works in partnership with faculty and staff to create learning experiences in support of retention and persistence efforts prioritizing accessibility, opportunity, and intellectual wellness.
