JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.

Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:

  • Emergency care 24/7
  • Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology
  • Cardiovascular services
  • Maternity care and pediatric services
  • Ambulatory surgery center
  • Imaging services
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation Center

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Quality Management Manager reports directly to the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI), and assists the DCQI in the operations of the hospital's Quality / Performance improvement program. Supports quality and process improvement efforts identified in the hospital. Responsible for data tracking/collection and trending. Coordinates, assists and advises on a variety of meetings, seminars, services and/or programs related to the overall Quality / Performance Improvement program. Coordinates hospital wide performance improvement activities under the direction of the DCQI.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current license as Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California with Bachelor’s degree or higher in a patient care related field
  • Three years (3) in performance improvement/quality duties and demonstrates knowledge and experience in Quality Management Tools
  • Knowledgeable in use of computers and specific hardware i.e. word perfect, word, excel, access
  • Statistical educational background
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with others

Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.

This individual's responsibilities include the following activities:

a) Coordinating integration and management of the Quality / Performance Improvement Program with the guidance of the DCQI to meet regulatory requirements including Joint Commission and federal and state regulations and statutes, to identify performance improvement opportunities so as to enhance the organization's outcomes

b) Carries out assignments as delegated by the DCQI, coordinates reports, correspondence and information as needed.

c) Collaborates with the department directors to compile and generate reports for the purpose of analysis and interpretation for the Quality / Performance Improvement department / Committee.

d) Project Manager of assigned clinical programs - and provides consultative support in clinical quality programs in the hospital as determined by the DCQI.

e) Participate and lead in quality and performance improvement inititiatives. Performance Improvement and Patient Safety-Functions as an integral part of performance improvement initiatives to promote positive patient and employee outcomes

f) Coordinates medical staff peer review process.
