Overview

  • The Sr. Manager Welding & QA/QC is a Management role responsible for Welding and QA/QC operations for a defined region or area. The role directly reports to the Operations Lead for remit and functionally reports to Global Quality Lead. This role routinely interacts with Operations (Project, Construction, Fabrication), Quality, Functional Management & Staff, in addition to Craft Supervision

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all Welding & QA/QC activities and team deliverables for a multiple country, single country, or regional area within a country with annual revenue typically greater than US$150MM
  • Responsible for all Welding, Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for area of remit
  • Responsible for maintaining data and reviewing Welding & QA/QC performance with Operations
  • Maintain qualified and experienced personnel to support the Quality staffing requirements of each office, facility, and project
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the CB&I Quality Mgmt. System (CMS)
  • Lead the coordination of Welding & QA/QC Managers and Staff, along with other department managers, Clients, Suppliers and Sub-contractors to correct and improve quality issues
  • Lead, coach, train, and mentor others in the organization on quality procedures and programs
  • Implement Quality programs as an instrument of continual Improvement in alignment with corporate & area objectives & targets that improves organizational performance and effectiveness
  • Develop and implement effective problem-solving methods to prevent recurrence of non-conformances
  • Ensure Welding & QA/QC support for pre-contract activities for estimating and other technical deliverables as requested by Sales and Estimating
  • Provide technical support for materials, welding, inspection, and testing for bids and projects
  • Forecast and assign resources ensuring implementation of training, development, and certification for welding, NDT, and QA/QC personnel
  • Assist in forecasting and scheduling Welding, NDE, and Inspection equipment for projects
  • Ensure that Project Inspections, NDE, and Certifications are effectively managed.
  • Ensure Quality certifications such as ASME and ISO9001 as applicable are current.
  • Support development of project quality plans and procedures as well as all QC and NDE field activities.
  • Responsible for providing department budget. Review cost forecast with Operations.
  • Development of direct reports with maintained succession plan for role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Engineering or Quality discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum of 15 Years relevant experience / 5 years in a Management role
  • Demonstrated knowledge & experience in Welding, NDT, Quality Assurance and Quality Control methods, Codes and Standards

Organizational Structure and Location

  • Reports to: Operations Lead; Functionally reports to Global Quality Lead
  • Permanent work location: Regional Operations Office
  • May be temporarily assigned to Project SitesCommon Performance Metrics
  • Meeting or exceeding corporate Quality objects and targets within the area of operations
  • Identification and provision of Welding, NDT, and QA/QC resources to projects
  • Timely compilation and submission of internal/external quality performance reports
  • Completion of Root Cause Analysis for medium / high-risk non-conformances.
  • Identifying and prioritizing continual improvement initiatives.
  • Accurate budgeting and forecasting
  • Development of direct reports with maintained succession plan for role

Pay Range

USD $148,162-$192,611/Annually
