POSITION SUMMARY
The role of Training Manager directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As Training Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering technical and HSE training to our technical employees and play a vital role in supporting the business by developing and carrying out critical technical and HSE related trainings while demonstrating strong technical and personal training skills and be enthusiastic in your approach to health and safety. You will be highly motivated to develop new and existing training packages.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide leadership in technical training program development and responsible for the coordination and provision of technical expertise for curriculum and content development.
- Provide leadership in safety training program development in coordination with HSE department
- Lead the development of personnel training needs assessment for determination of learning objectives, training curriculum, and appropriate delivery method and comprehension evaluation.
- Lead the programming strategy, benchmarking and evaluation of potential training demands through active industry and department engagement.
- Plan the implementation and facilitation of activities and events, budget spending, material production and distribution, and other resources to ensure that operations are managed within authorized budget(s).
- Manage training personnel responsible for delivering technical and HSE training in accordance with applicable industry standards.
- Manage training resources in compliance with internal / external requirements including qualifications, on-boarding, tool/device calibration, assessment, and / or professional development of training personnel.
- Contribute in the development and improvement of industry standards
- Design and oversee the delivery of learning modules using computer-based and web-based training outputs for classroom training, demonstrations, workshops, and on-the-job training plans for remote and on-site wind farm technical personnel.
- Consult with subject matter experts with technical and HSE backgrounds, various department heads for content accuracy and superior delivery.
- Provide coaching to content presenters (i.e. train-the-trainer) to ensure content is effectively presented.
- Support and maintain comprehensive information base for effective knowledge transfer within Acciona Windpower and externally to customers.
- Maintain all training curricula throughout content lifecycle, spanning content creation, internal review, and periodic enhancement.
- Manage and lead internal initiatives that focus on safety, information integrity, cost improvements, turbine performance, and increasing customer satisfaction.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU HAVE
- Postsecondary degree in engineering, industrial technology, or science field or related discipline with equivalent work experience.
- 5-10 years of wind energy industry technology or industrial maintenance experience is preferred, including at least 1-3 years in a dedicated training, teaching, and/or facilitation capacity.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of power generation systems, hydraulic fluid power, rotating machinery, programmable communication / control devices, telemetry and metering equipment, and common troubleshooting methodologies.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of industry standards for technical and HSE trainings
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to obtain required information, assess needs and effectively transfer knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio required.
- Familiarity with video production and editing.
- Comfortable with public speaking and presenting
- Experience with wind turbine maintenance, operations, and technologies highly desired.
- Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
- Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
