Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Developer to join our team and drive the development and enhancement of critical trading and market data platforms within our Rates Data Services Technology team. The role involves technical leadership, system analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize and support our data streaming, microservices, and enterprise applications. Software Requirements
Required:
- Strong proficiency in Java (latest or recent stable versions)
- Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
- Familiarity with Version Control tools such as Git
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of Messaging Technologies such as Tibco EMS
- Experience with Databases such as Oracle
- Understanding of information security principles and practices
Preferred:
- Exposure to .NET development
- Experience with microservice architectures
- Familiarity with Gemfire, Ignite, or similar in-memory data grids
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud deployment on platforms like AWS or OpenShift
Overall Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable Java-based microservices for data streaming and delivery platforms
- Analyze existing system logic, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability
- Collaborate with business partners and technology teams to gather requirements, define scope, and develop technical solutions
- Document application architecture, APIs, system configurations, and operational procedures
- Coordinate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment, configuration, and release cycles, including CI/CD practices
- Provide post-deployment support to address issues, optimize performance, and implement necessary updates
- Foster best practices in coding, security, and system design to ensure robust and maintainable solutions

- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and secure high-volume data platforms
- Prior leadership in SDLC and Agile methodologies
Day-to-Day Activities
- Lead technical discussions, plan sprints, and coordinate with delivery teams
- Conduct detailed analysis of existing systems, propose improvements, and implement fixes
- Work with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and scope
- Develop, review, and refine code for microservices and data platforms
- Manage deployment pipelines, configurations, and release procedures
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving live environment issues
- Document architecture, APIs, deployment procedures, and security practices
- Mentor junior developers and promote best practices within the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Certifications in Java development, cloud platforms, or security (preferred)
- Extensive experience working with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and enterprise data systems
- Exposure to containerization, orchestration, and cloud deployment
