Job Title: Chassis Dyno Test Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Chassis Dyno Test Technician to join our Noise and Vibration Chassis Dynamometer Lab and Program Milage Outdoor Dynamometer Lab. The technician will be responsible for ensuring first-time quality and on-time delivery of test data across various test areas, supporting engineering groups in meeting federal and internal requirements. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision while collaborating with various organizations during the vehicle development process.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, and monitor test vehicles on a chassis dynamometer, including portable test equipment.
• Receive assignments and communicate with the previous shift.
• Work with non-intrusive robots in a garage setting.
• Set up and monitor tests on multiple dynos simultaneously.
• Collect and record data.
• Operate chassis dynos, install robots into vehicles, and perform technical tasks such as fixing and installing equipment.
• Participate in shift handoff meetings and report to designated buildings for training and assignments.
• Collaborate with support staff and other technicians while primarily managing own dyno.

Essential Skills

• Electrical and mechanical repair skills.
• Proficiency with test equipment and troubleshooting.
• Experience with data acquisition systems for vehicles.
• 2-year technical degree.
• 2 years of dynamometer experience.
• ASE/mechanic background.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Chassis dyno experience is preferred.
• Interest in long-term position.

Work Environment

Technicians will work between two buildings, Building 94 and 41, equipped with both indoor and outdoor dynos. Building 94 features a noise and vibration lab, while Building 41 includes a PMD lab. The work environment is cutting-edge, with automated calibration and controlled conditions, facilitating a technical and collaborative atmosphere. The position requires flexibility to operate on all three shifts due to increased workload and recent equipment upgrades. Technicians will be part of a team with other technicians, group leaders, and team leaders, offering a supportive environment with potential for position extension and direct employment opportunities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
