How You’ll Contribute
The National Geographic Society, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is nearing completion of a transformation of its historic headquarters campus, known as Base Camp. Opening in 2026, the reimagined campus will include the Museum of Exploration (MOE)—a dynamic new cultural destination featuring a pavilion entrance, auditorium, iconic photo gallery, immersive exhibition space, walk-through experience, educational hub, archives, retail, food and beverage, and a new event venue. A one-of-a-kind nighttime experience in the courtyard will serve as the emotional centerpiece of the guest journey. A sustainably designed hotel may also be constructed on-site in partnership with a third-party operator.
To support this growing campus and brand ecosystem, the Campus & Experiences Marketing team leads integrated campaigns that engage audiences and drive revenue across a diverse portfolio. This includes not only the new MOE but also National Geographic Live (a speaker and performance series hosted at venues around the world), Traveling Exhibitions (which brings National Geographic content to global museums and science centers), and the Storytellers Collective (an initiative for building deeper engagement with explorer-led storytelling workshops and events). These initiatives are key contributors to the Society’s revenue and impact strategy.
The Email & Content Coordinator provides hands-on support across these initiatives. Working under the direction of the Senior Manager, Marketing, this role assists with the setup and scheduling of email campaigns, helps maintain editorial calendars, supports content updates on digital platforms, and contributes to copy editing and campaign workflows. The Coordinator collaborates with multiple team leads to ensure that email and web content is accurate, timely, and aligned with brand standards and strategic goals. This is a detail-oriented role that blends digital production skills with content support and cross-functional coordination.

Job Designation
Resident - Our Resident category recognizes that certain staff need to be physically present at Base Camp to do their work. Some Resident staff must be at Base Camp every day to do their jobs, while others may only need to be physically present onsite some of the time to meet looming deadlines or to get work done and may require a unique schedule. As such, this category has been revised to provide maximum flexibility depending on what’s required for each individual role. The days Resident staff come into the office will be determined by their teams and workflow, and they should work with their supervisors to determine their specific schedule. And throughout the year, their schedule may be adjusted based on cyclical work cycles, deadlines, and/or ebbs and flows of work.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
