Trystar’s team members are our most important asset. We are in search of an Engineering Manager (Engineer to Order (ETO) Design Leader) to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for delivering custom product designs at-scale for our Charlotte, NC, facility. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving our engineering design process and will play an essential role in supporting custom engineering work product, including but without limitation, Docking Stations, Switchboards, Transfer Switches, and Control Panels.

In this role you will get to:
- Build and coach a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to support Trystar’s vision of engineering custom product accurately and at-scale such that the resulting engineering work product can be sent to any Trystar manufacturing site.
- Partner with cross functional and cross site Trystar leaders in engineering, customer experience, operations, and corporate functions to ensure success and provide an experience that delights our customers.
- Champion industry best practices in engineering design, configuration, and documentation, as well as costing and quoting activities.
- Develop and curate design processes and product portfolio in a manner that improves safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency, while providing engineering work product at industry disruptive speeds.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that the design team is able to scale and accommodate new levels of demand while supporting 100% complete and accurate engineering work product.
- Responsible for establishing and reporting metrics used to measure and analyze the speed and accuracy of engineering work product supporting weekly schedule adherence, Enterprise Quote Requests, and the submittal process.
Job Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or similar discipline) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- 7+ years’ experience in the management of people.
- Ability to travel up to 10% for business within the USA and Canada.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated leadership skills in collaborating and influencing cross-functional groups. Including strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence all levels within the organization.
- Experience with ECAD, MCAD, PCBA CAD, design configurators, ERP, and PLM.
- Excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Highly motivated, fast learner with exceptional attention to detail that thrives in a team environment.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors the team’s work to ensure high quality.
