OVERVIEW:
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees through a wide variety of program areas for the State of Maine. OIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies.
ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:
The Office of Information Technology is seeking a senior technical professional who is highly proficient in Cisco LAN/WAN networking with further experience in a Cisco software defined network. The selected individual will join as a contributing team member with other network experts and will assist in engineering, installing, and maintaining State of Maine’s enterprise networks.
Technical duties include:
To be successful the selected candidate, you must be highly trained and experienced in Cisco routing, switching and management systems, be able to solve complex network issues, provide sound judgement and analysis, and offer viable solutions. This role requires an understand of networking performance management/capacity planning, hardware and software configurations, integrations, and all facets of implementation.
Work is performed under limited supervision. This position is in Augusta. The Network Services Group requires 24x7 hardware support. This requires the position to be on-call in a rotation format.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Hiring preference for candidates with current Cisco Certifications in network operations and management, with 4 or more years’ experience in maintaining large enterprise networks.
The selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks(fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions.
