Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience working with data center or other mission critical equipment/environments.
  • 5 years of experience managing process improvement or construction programs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems in large-scale, mission critical facilities.
  • Knowledge of best practices for detail oriented execution, follow-through and timely reporting of updates to business leaders.
  • Ability to gather requirements, organize resources, prioritize tasks, manage schedules and deliver results.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Google is looking for a highly motivated Technical Program Manager with demonstrated design, operations and construction oversight experience in the area of complex systems with multiple stakeholders.

As a Technical Program Manager in Data Center Delivery and Engineering (DCDE) Central Operations team , you will be involved in strategic programs to enhance data center planning and execution. You will act as a liaison between construction leads, internal teams and vendors to drive improvements. You will lead programs from planning to delivery, covering operational updates, machine learning progress and project execution.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop a program initiative charter by collaborating with internal stakeholders to strategize, plan and prioritize objectives, success criteria, task durations and alignment of schedules and dependencies.
  • Secure approval for the program initiative and support requests while identifying and engaging the most suitable team resources for the project.
  • Monitor and communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies throughout the development and execution phases of the initiative.
  • Verify that all initiative goals and objectives are met, including the establishment of a clear implementation strategy, measurable impacts on site teams and documented risks before completion.
  • Design a communication and roll out strategy for management and execution teams, including training, direct engagement and general awareness notifications.
