Business Intelligence Engineer, AWS Training & Certification

Amazon

DESCRIPTION

AWS Training & Certification is seeking a self-driven, analytical Business Intelligence Engineer with strong business acumen to help scale our global curriculum efforts through data driven invention and simplification. This is the perfect role for anyone excited about leveraging the latest in data analytics to provide insights and drive crisp decision making for a complex business.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable sitting at the intersection of data engineering, business intelligence, and business analysis, and will be asked to deliver across all three vectors. They should be passionate about working with disparate datasets and be someone who loves to bring data together to answer business questions. They will need to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve problems. Along the way, they will likely deliver insights our leaders might not have previously considered.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage Data Structure: Partner with other BIEs across AWS T&C (and beyond) to understand present data stores, identify gaps to enabling new capabilities or better reporting, and close these gaps.
  • Deliver Data Insights: Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve KPIs, including operational and quality metrics.
  • Enable Data Self Service: Design, implement, and support reporting platforms that provide business teams ad-hoc access to large datasets (e.g. data visualization tools for non-tech business users).
  • Influence Leadership: Present analyses and insights to senior leaders effectively to influence decision making.
  • Manage Diverse Stakeholders: Engage with diverse stakeholder groups to understand needs and recommend business intelligence solutions. Participate in strategic & tactical planning discussions.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis – Write SQL queries to pull data from disparate databases and conduct analysis that supports the broader organization.
